VoW was started by Great_One and I back in August of 2001. We actually went through quite a few different names before settling on Visions of Warfare. We both used to play for IgU, but wanted to start something new. Soon after we left it broke up for a number of reasons, and we were able to recruit a few of our old IgU teammates to the clan. That's how this whole damn thing got started.
Right now we are a CTF instagib team that competes on the OGL non/zp CTF ladder. Unlike many clans, we only compete on one ladder. This gives our members a less hectic regiment of matches, and allows for more time for scrimmages and practice. Currently we have 9 members, 5 of which start in our matches. Our other 4 members play in scrimmages and fill in for the starters when one can't show. This works well for us and allows us to compete at the highest level possible. If someone wants a chance to start in matches they have to join the clan and put in their practice time, devote a bit of themselves to the clan, and show us how committed they are. A major factor in matches is being able to trust your comrades, and that trust isn't earned overnight.
All of our members are highly active players who are on for some time almost every day. For the most part, we play later at nights and weekends. To communicate with one another, we use Battle Com, and U can usually find us talking to one another and playing every night.
For those interested in joining, let me say this. We value a well rounded player above all else. Players who are constantly on D do little to impress us. We feel a player who plays offense, dodges and moves well, and isn't afraid to run into the fray and grab the flag
is a valuable asset, and it stands to reason that an offensive player and easily play defense when asked to.
